Jua

Jua I would absolutely return to even though a few courses stay the same over the seasons like the caviar kim, “chan” and donut since they were just THAT good.

Showroom and yellow rose are definitely fancy for the sake of fancy but are the best I've had here except for going upstate.

Conversely, gourmet or high budget donut chains/shops in the city are fantastic (mostly in downtown, some of Brooklyn or Queens), but I’d get paying 4-7$ (or more) per donut with little to no discounts might throw people off, same scenario for uppity cupcake or cake shops. Places that come to mind for me is Doughnut Project, Doughnut Plant, Dough, Donut Pub ([whenever they reopen](https://chelseacommunitynews.com/2023/07/21/sweet-relief-for-the-glazed-confused-donut-pub-to-resume-its-24-7-presence-soon/)), so on.

This and Peter Pan are the only two places in Brooklyn that give you the LA donuts vibe. NYC majors in overly fancy donuts but this is the stuff. Light, airy, delicious.

Wildair

It’s only on Saturdays, in limited quantities, but the wildair donuts are pretty incredible, usually 2 flavors of donuts plus maybe a cinnamon roll and/or a savory foccacia situation. Worth going at least once and they advertise the flavors in advance on Instagram.

Our favorites included the small donuts from Doughnuttery, I can guarantee on our next trip we'll be stopping there, the desserts from Seed & Mill were as unique as I'd ever had and really great, the olive oil and lemon cake from Amy's Bread was incredible, and honestly those tacos were amazing!
