The interior layout mirrors that of a typical shophouse in urban West Malaysia, and the food itself remixes that of pre-independence urban Malaya in a way the more traditional Malaysian restaurants here don't: - the paratha is on a bed of dal and topped with a little stracciatella cheese - the kway teow (wok fried flat rice noodles), which usually get served with fresh cockles in Malaysia but don't here bc cockles don't live here, gets served with smoked littlenecks, whose smokiness compliments the same from the the wok hei

replying to u/ironypoisonedposter: i was hesitant to go because the reviews on google were not great (in fact, one person called out the lack of wok hei in kway teow!). my fiancé really wanted to go (he previously lived in Malaysia) but the reviews have held us back, but may need to reconsider.
