Gooey on the Inside

5.8/10

AI-generated summary

The comes out thick and warm, and fans say nothing else in the city tops it. It runs about $8, which people complain about, and several say it's too sweet and a little raw in the middle. The common advice is to go during happy hour when the price drops.

  • Originally I thought this was one of the better of the thick cookies, but the $8.15 price tag made me bring it down a notch, and, like all the very thick cookies, was a *little* raw feeling on the inside

  • Had Gooey on the Inside for the first time recently. I don’t know if it was mostly because it was freezing out and the cookie was WARM but it was reeeeally good

  • replying to u/Individual-Farm-5876: love their cookies - they’re not necessarily “flat” like OP had on their wish list but taste is 10/10 (at least based on the last time i’ve had it which was a few years back)

I get them ~once a month and I’ve never been disappointed- the other cookies are thicc as hell but their regular choco is a bit more thinned out than others (still thicc tho) - but there’s no better cookie place in this city in my opinion, I’ve tried so many spots.

  • Gooey on the Inside is already a great spot. They also have cookies in a jar (basically slightly cooked cookie batter...). Super tasty.

  • replying to u/worrymon: I love my cookies warm and gooey. I haven't found a place that does them the way I want them so I just make up some cookie dough, freeze it in cookie size clumps, and then undercook them in the toaster oven. Levain won't scratch the itch for you. They taste fine, but they're more like hard little cakes. If I remember correctly, Zaro in Grand Central has cookies that will still slowly bend and rip and remain soft for quite a while after they cool. I think Schmackary's made a decent soft cookie as well.

I have tried all of the gooey cookies in this damn city- nothing tops them.
