replying to u/thansal: I feel like the best bet would be to look for a Japanese Hamburg Steak instead, since they're basically the same idea (though one is thin and the other is thick I think). I still don't have a good answer, the only time I've had it was from Katagiri, where it was really enjoyable, but probably not the 'best'.

replying to u/thansal: OP, just to note that there's 2 really different styles of omurice out there. There's the old school version where it's just ketchup rice in a thin omelet (Hi Collar does a nice version of that). There's also the Tampopo style with the runny curds in a just barely set shell placed over rice, often slathered in demi (That's Bar Moga/AOI Kitchen/Vert Frais).

replying to u/personaljournal325: Yea agreed this list is pretty horrible. Gotta give a shout to R40, Jora, Safir, and MOGMOG. Tbh the Chinese food here is all international chains and you're better off at Flushing/Chinatown for. Vernon Blvd is the true LIC food scene
