replying to u/lithium900mg: My personal favorite for balance of taste and price is Udon St Marks. Raku is pretty good but hanon used to be better but they’ve been temporarily closed for a long time now. I’ve been to Tsurutontan a few times and in the past I liked it but on my most recent visit was very disappointed. Someone told me they have new owner or something? It was different and worse. The fish cake Udon at Udon St Marks is my favorite bowl and it’s very affordable.

replying to u/KaruiPoetry: Shout out to Udon St. Marks. I spent a bit over a year delivering weed when the pandemic got going and would probably eat there three times a week, Kitsune Udon and Beef Curry w/ Rice were my favorite dishes. This place most reminded of the flavor of the udon I ate in Tokyo. Was first name basis with most of the wait staff and owner. Can’t recommend it enough if you like udon.
