replying to u/PuggleLover11: I appreciate that they seemed to emphasize breadth, but i don't know that they nailed the best option in a given category. I also think more than a few spots were coasting on past accolades rather than current output. Have people had standout recent meals at daniel? casa mono? rezdora? i'd be looking for i cavallini, cesar, torrisi in the top 10. i guess atomix if its not 11-100; would also be somewhat surprised to see yoshino shut out (though sho is better).

replying to u/Pamijay: Xi'an Famous Foods is mid. Maybe it used to be good before it franchised (according to all of my chinese friends) but there are so many other random places in Chinatown and Flushing, and even outside NYC (Seattle, Boston) where I had better lamb noodles and pork burgers. I don't personally know anyone who would want to go there over anywhere else. Also, Prince Street Pizza is nowhere near the best square in the city. Literally no reason to go there.

replying to u/t1mewast3r: I'm chinese. these are gonna be chinese. but there's a lot more to chinese food than general tsos! 1) stinky tofu. there's a cart in flushing. you'll smell it before you see it! 2) my favorite chinese dish is a shanghainese appetizer called "Four Happiness Kao Fu" because it has four main ingredients (gluten, two kinds of mushrooms, dried lily flower) (kao fu is gluten). you know when you have soup or a saucy dish, you take bread and mop up all that good sauce at the end? imagine that soft saucey bread, but a dish. it's served cold, it's vegan. its sooooo good! i had it at nan xing xiao long bao most recently but i know its served elsewhere 3) uyghur chinese food (halal chinese food, from the muslim ethnic minority) is also super underrated. my mom and i used to go to Tengri Tagh Uyghur Cuisine, its close to her work
