replying to u/Maleficent-Sir4824: Everyone knows Veselka, but not a lot of people know the Ukrainian East Village Restaurant (yes that's it's name, not very creative) which in my opinion is even better. It's literally directly around the corner from Veselka and is hidden away inside a building there that has several other Ukrainian related offices inside. You have to go down the hall to find it. There's always a couple of old Ukrainian people there having a meal but it's never busy. Check it out! https://ukrainianevr.wixsite.com/ukrainian-east-villa
“Love this spot. When I moved into EV I went to this spot first, then Veselka, and then never returned to Veselka. Better prices, imo better food. Their stroganoff is one of my favorite cold/rainy weather comfort foods”
