AI-generated summary

LittleMad is closed. It was upscale Korean from a chef trained in French kitchens, and fans called it more innovative than Atoboy. Others hated the upselling, since almost every course pushed , uni, or wagyu as a paid add on. The $95 tasting menu was the good deal, and people said it slipped once the prix fixe went away.

  • replying to u/butstilliburn: I went last year and it was incredible, went again a few months ago and the prix fixe menu was gone and it wasn't quite as good. Still sorry to see it gone.

the choices were still delicious, but more expensive and not as good as the prix fixe options were.

  • Their concept itself was ludicrous. The whole menu is centered around an upsell of caviar, uni, and Wagyu for every single course. It really rubbed me the wrong way.

  • LittleMad in midtown has probably the most unique food I've ever had. Upscale korean but not crazy $$$.

  • If you can’t get into Atoboy, a similarly priced option for similar cuisine is LittleMad.

  • replying to u/americruiser: I completely agree. I also noticed the upsell (on nearly every item). I was completely unimpressed and found nothing on the menu being better than the listed components. —that combination of rice, uni and greens? Uh that’s what it ended up tasting like… Also remember one on the desserts was nothing more than a mochi donut.

If the course needed any of the add ons to be a complete course, then put it on the plate. Am I the chef or are you the chef.
