replying to u/Foodiegirlie030793: I love the nasi lemak from a few Malaysian restaurants (it’s a coconut flavored rice centered dish) I like it from Nynonya in LES or Malay Restaurant in Flushing even Papa Rich has a good one. Another dish is Hainanese chicken rice you can also order that at the Malaysian restaurants. The thai version can be found at chick it out in LIC. I also enjoy the sticky white rice that comes with tofu stew in Korean restaurants.

replying to u/lchen34: Parksanbal near northern and 162nd St is a hole in the wall that only serves 1 soup on the menu, Gukbap (beef and noodles) for about $13 last time I went. Any restaurant that serves only one menu item and survived the Pandemic should tell you how good it is.

replying to u/amandabug: I was here two weekends ago and was just thinking about how it’s the perfect bite of food… rice, a piece of the meat, in a spoon with a little broth (spicy of course). I could not in that moment think of a more perfect mouthful of food.
