  • replying to u/Agreeable-Ad-7110: Honey Badger is criminally underrated. It’s so amazing for the (comparatively) cheap price with some of the most unique food in the city.

It’s wild. I had preserved mini pinecones and ate a pea sized flower that made my whole mouth tingle and salivate and that was just the two intro courses. Such unique food and the owners are so nice.

  • replying to u/ikoke: Thanks! Added to my list. I wanted to head to Prospect Park anyways to try Sofreh. Now there’s another reason.

Honey Badger is amazing, but just note it's a $200 tasting menu. I think it's absolutely worth it, and one of my favorite places in the city, especially given how unique their preparations are.

  • replying to u/CPhlegmChunk: Honey Badger… I don’t know if they’re serious or just taking the piss? I can’t help but feel like they’re putting one over on the customers. Or maybe their suppliers are putting one over on *them* with all the talk of how wild everything is? The food wasn’t bad, even if the stories behind everything might be BS. But the service doesn’t quite match the price point. It’s a bit hippie-dippie. Though at least we didn’t have to listen to their kid practice violin, or whatever it was some Yelpers were complaining about.

It's indescribably weird, but not in a good way. Like a Portlandia sketch of a fancy farm-to-table.

  • replying to u/MurrayPloppins: This is interesting, I’ve been thinking about trying it. Can you elaborate on what went wrong?

It wasn't in the flavors, it wasn't in the presentation, it wasn't in the service/attention. There were moments where it almost felt like a farce, this young team who was just too much up in their heads. I try to take something positive from every experience, life is hard, but we walked out feeling cheated, like what an effing waste, they were not even trying.
