replying to u/Mauve__avenger_: It's worth noting that "sushi-grade" and "sashimi-grade" are completely non-regulated terms. It CAN mean that it's been flash frozen to kill parasites but that's not a guarantee. Sorry if I sound pedantic but I just wanted to mention it. As the other person said though, AquaBest is, well, the best. Just tell them you're having it for sushi/sashimi and they'll give you something great. I'd recommend the Ora King salmon. It's a crazy high-quality king salmon farm raised in New Zealand. It's not cheap but it's well worth it. But either way you can't do better than AquaBest. I work in the seafood industry and I think they're the best in the city in terms of selection, quality, price, and knowledge. Don't be afraid to talk to them and ask questions, they're always happy to chat and point you in the right direction.

replying to u/ChefSuffolk: I’ve actually had some bad experiences with Aqua Best starting about a decade ago. More than once I’ve purchased fish (salmon, most notably) that turned out to be water-logged - an old unscrupulous fishmonger “trick” to increase the weight of fish. The higher end fish like Ora King they don’t do it to. Although given OP’s lament about salmon costing $25 they might get sticker shock at the price of OK.
