  • my last couple visits have been absolute garbage. TERRIBLE service from different servers on both occasions and really long wait times for food that's ultimately *fine.*

  • replying to u/HandjobCalrissian: Looks tasty enough but my last couple visits have been absolute garbage. TERRIBLE service from different servers on both occasions and really long wait times for food that's ultimately *fine.* Made me sad because this place was unbeatable like 6-7 years ago.

    I had excellent service

  • replying to u/CatPillar: Wenwen, Double Chicken Please, and Pecking House are my favorites for asian style chicken sandwiches. I really want to try win son bakery’s too since i love everything else from them but haven’t had the time to yet. If chicken katsu sandos count too then  Golden Diner and Taku Sando are really good. For american style, i haven’t found anything really great yet — the best so far is probably the Commodore or Bobwhite counter’s. I really wish there was a good nashville hot chicken place here though :(( Also, tbh the popeyes chicken sandwich is pretty solid too if you have a good popeyes near you

Peaches Hothouse has really good Nashville style hot chicken.

I’m from the south and can attest that it is truly good fried chicken.

  • replying to u/Marfilmz: The restaurant feels like a family owned spot it's small with home vibe. We were greeted soon as I walked inside got my table. We ordered the crispy chicken, crispy catfish and Mac & cheese. Home ice tea and a tiger woods (1/2 lemonade 1/2 ice tea). The catfish was seasoned by someone grandma that comes over every holiday to cook for the family. The catfish was so fresh, flakey and was such a huge piece of fish. The grits were very cheesy and delicious. The fried chicken was a 3pcs crispy and juicy also well seasoned chicken was crunchy. French fries crunchy with some salt. The Mac & cheese was good I would order it again as a side. I like their Mac & cheese because it wasn't super cheesy like some of these other restaurants. I recommend this spot to everyone and I will be here again to try the shrimps!!!

    their catfish is goated

I had their Mac and cheese with some sort of short rib and it was out of this world.

  • replying to u/Zarling_1229: The catfish and slaw is so good, along with the fried green tomatoes and mac and cheese, but they swapped out their hot honey for that brand you see everywhere (name escaping me) and it’s a shame because they had their own that was extremely tasty

The catfish was good and nice size too

  • This place is awesome. Pretty simple menu, but it's done very well, and the prices are fair. I went here earlier in the week, and I really enjoyed my meal.

I took my dad there, he was visiting from out of town, and I think he cried at how good it was

Definitely visit, it is one of my faves and at this point a bed-stuy institution.

  • I thought the food was fine but nothing incredible that'd put it on the top of the fried chicken chain.
