  • replying to u/Natmannnnn: Diamond slice is great. I live around the corner and have had it 5 or 6 times already. Do yourself a favor and try the Caesar slice, it’s a game changer. My wife and I are split on it vs. Chrissy’s but Diamond’s price point is better and they do slices. Diamond definitely deserves a lot more publicity. To me, it’s a top 10 slice. (Others in my top 10 (in no order): Lucali Di Fara Mamas too joes l’industrie Lucia Scarr’s Luigi’s Chrissy’s

Had both a couple weeks back. Been meaning to go since I live nearby-ish. Was underwhelmed with both tbh. Both solid, but I think I’m finding I don’t prefer the heavier/crispier cook that so many of the new wave places favor. Also tbf, the slices I got from Diamond seemed like they had been sitting out for a while.

  • Anyway, I think Diamond Slice is in my upper tier. Wouldn’t travel from another neighborhood on a regular basis, but my first choice if I’m nearby.

  • replying to u/sugarytea78: I find it too dry! Not enough cheese.

Question of preference but I like my slices very light on dairy, would have preferred a slightly higher salt content in the grated cheese though…

caesar salad slice here is insane, it's like a whole side salad on there and it's prob the best caesar slice in town

  • I really like the caesar slice, too. Though it's definitely better when it's fresh because they don't reheat it.

  • replying to u/No_Helicopter_8397: My thoughts exactly - my friend suggested the buffalo chicken slice and it’s all I order now. I wouldn’t consider it at most places. I think the crunchy bottom does a good job of supporting it vs. many places that serve nontraditional slices lean on gimmicky toppings and mail it in on the rest. Anyway, I think Diamond Slice is in my upper tier. Wouldn’t travel from another neighborhood on a regular basis, but my first choice if I’m nearby.

Yup the topping heavy pizzas are definitely the way to go with the crispy crust they do at Diamond. Their lighter slices I find a little dry.

  • replying to u/LessLake9514: I am so confused by chrissy’s. My 10yo is a total pizza snob and was like this isn’t that good- l’indystrie, best and diamond slice are much better…

L’industrie and Diamond and Best are all very crushable slices.

  • There are a bunch of spots in Brooklyn that you should try, r/nycpizzacrawl has hit them up recently. Rome to Brooklyn, Brooklyn DOP, Best Pizza, Patsy’s, Diamond Slice, Paulie Gees, lots of places.

  • replying to u/Zazz2403: After being a diehard lindustrie fan for years, I went for the first time in a year or so last month and man, the quality has hugely dropped. It made me so sad.

I've been loving diamond slice lately
