replying to u/kmpham2013: Jin Mei Dumpling At $5/15, this is the quintessential yum for cheap. Really thick and chewy wrapper seared on the flat top so the bottom gets satisfyingly dense and browned. A lower amount of pork filling compared to what I’m used to, but what was there was juicy and flavorsome, and the vinegar soy sauce perfectly cut through the super heavy feeling to make the food slurpable and make you want 20 more dumplings.

replying to u/CatStock9136: May Wah Fast Food in Chinatown is my guilty pleasure. Filling and delicious! Get the pork chop over rice for $7.50 without egg/$8.25 with egg (I always get it with the egg).

replying to u/crazeman: I'm surprised Kai Feng Fu made the list. It's a good cheap dumpling spot and I drop by every 3 months to pick up a bag of frozen dumplings for ~$15. However it's not significantly better than the cheap dumpling spots in Chinatown/Flushing though. It has been open in 8th ave for a long ass time to make it kind of historical but the Chinatown spots have also been opened for a long time. Personally I think it's a great neighborhood spot but I would never recommend someone to travel out for it lol.

replying to u/crazeman: I think Fried Dumpling is my least favorite dumpling spot in Chinatown. IDK if it was a bad batch but the dumplings I had were [mostly skin and barely had any meat fillings inside](https://imgur.com/a/VBywDya). [Tasty Dumpling](https://maps.app.goo.gl/4oTrARqLqwm4tcgV8) is literally right around the corner and IMO they are much meatier than Fried Dumpling.
