replying to u/manicakes1: I live in downtown Manhattan and find that Pino's in Soho has very high quality 40 day dry aged steaks. It's not cheap & bring cash.  I've also had great experiences with Ends Meat (I went to the one in Industry City, they have another location in Essex Market).

replying to u/JayMoots: I'd go out of my way to Brooklyn for Paisano's in Cobble Hill... but if you absolutely need it to be Manhattan, Esposito's or Pino's are both good. The butcher departments at most Whole Foods are also surprisingly good, and not necessarily as expensive as you'd expect.

replying to u/bkhalfpint: Albanese Meats on Elizabeth. Old school shop that was taken over by the owner's granddaughter. You can call ahead of time to make sure she's got what you want or she'll get it for you. Great little neighborhood/community spot that takes care of customers really well. And, in 2020 at the beginning of covid she made a few delivery trips to me in Brooklyn. They make their own sausage too. Otherwise I go to Paisano's on Smith (it's in Brooklyn tho).

replying to u/in48092: Greenpoint: Taqueria Ramirez. Great, relatively inexpensive tacos Lobster Joint. Great spot for a bloody mary Carrol Street stop Carrol Gardens: F&F Pizzeria. Tremendous slices. Co-located (basically) Frank's wine bar, though that's damn expensive. Abilene. Couldn't tell you why I like it really, but rock solid bar. Nothing stands out. I just find myself there a lot. Zombie Hut. Low end Tiki Bar. Good times. Bar San Miguel and Leyana. Both good tequila bars with solid food Paisanos butcher shop. Fun story. Mostly about the meats, but good prepared food and sandwiches
