replying to u/Lost_sidhe: For Cajun, Lowerline For Nashville Hot Chicken, Peaches Hot House. Peaches Seafood & Crab also does well - their fried catfish is really good. Bobwhite Lunch and Supper counter used to be The second best at EVERYTHING. I haven't been since they cut the menu in half, but the fried chicken is still probably solid. Brown Butter Bar in Bed-Stuy has like the only serviceable biscuit sandwich menu I've found in the whole damn place. Biscuits are mostly sad here - a few serious recipe comments about people up keep trying to change the ancestry of biscuits to French pastry instead of West-African/English hybrid (good LORD stop with the lamination and 100% butter and cooking them dark brown!) AND not using the right flour with low enough protein/gluten content - Also, don't think he can get cornbread. Just give that up. It's all corn cake here.
