replying to u/Jts109: Do you have any examples of NYC restaurants with more than adequate space and comfortable seating? I find that most of those are usually in Midtown, which is a tougher commute from Brooklyn than lower Manhattan would be. I remember the defunct Bar Americain was like what you are describing, as is Hutong (former Le Cirque environs).

replying to u/Johnnadawearsglasses: Forge is excellent. The seasonal specials are always good, and it has a great grown up vibe for conversations. One of the few good downtown places with tables that are large and spread out for two diners. A bit of an older crowd but to be expected for Tribeca.

replying to u/barebackguy7: Hear me out. There is this place called Forgione. 100% not a steakhouse, however, they have a porterhouse for 2 on their menu that is my favorite steak in NYC. Better than Lugers, American Cut, Cut, etc. in my opinion. All their food is great but the steak is still one of the best I have had. If you want steakhouse vibes and classic steaks, Forgione is not the place. If you just want Ana amazing steak and other food and drinks, Forgione is awesome.
