replying to u/zbewbies: These comments sort of remind me of when Tim Ho Wan opened up. So much hype for a "Michelin" starred chain, but the reality is that the US locations are never in the same breath (or universe) as the ones in Asia. The only guarantee will be that it'll be overpriced.
“The xlb's I've had at the west coast locations are almost identical to the ones I've had in Hong Kong. It's not as cheap as the one's in Chinatown but it is better, IMO and that's what people are paying for.”

“I think it’s good, the selection is just a bit smaller than some of your Chinatown places, they really focus on the main / classic dim sum dishes (vs other restaurants that might have a more expanded Chinese menu). Like others have mentioned, the baked pork bun is bomb, and I like their har gow — super delicate wrapper.”
