If you hadn't gotten a dry one then you would have gotten a completely underbaked goo bomb that oozed all over the place. Shoulda gone to chip city like I suggested.

    replying to u/Shota_Kazehaya: I liked From Lucy more than Culture Espresso and at the moment, they make my favorite in the city. I found Culture Espresso a bit inconsistent and finally gave up on them. Tried different locations, usually shortly after opening, and visited some multiple times and I only remember one visit being truly phenomenal. Levain can be a hit or miss so i would get it from the original location and make sure you ask if they’re warm. I just remember really hating the one in Lafayette and preferring Funny Face’s over theirs. Win Son has a good cookie but only when warm. It is disgusting when room temperature and really needs to be popped back in the oven if you bring it home. I really dislike Winner Baker’s wait outside for your order model but admit they have a good cookie as well. Not a fan of Hani’s cookie but maybe its changed since I tried it when Hani’s first opened. Honestly surprised to hear how much is raved about now since it was underwhelming when I first tried it as I even preferred the chef’s previous cookie he created for Gramercy Tavern better.

    replying to u/cjmmoseley: thursday: —————————————————— champers social club (fig prosciutto toast, lavender lemonade mimosa) this is my new favorite brunch spot in nyc! we made reservations for 10 and were seated immediately. there was no one else eating the entire time we were there, and our waitress was very kind. the toast i got was DELICIOUS, as was the mimosa. i will absolutely be returning and bringing my friends/fiancé here. 10/10 funny face bakery (chocolate chip cookie) we decided to stop in here off of a whim and loved how cute all of the sugar cookies were! i will definitely be coming back for those alone. i split a chocolate chip cookie with my mom and we both agree these are the best we’ve had here so far. for being so close to levain, im surprised this place doesn’t have a line out the door. it’s spectacular! 10/10 emilio’s ballato (chicken parm, limoncello) i really wanted to like this place. i heard so many good things about it, but the service RUINED the experience for me. to get it out of the way, i will say the food was good. however, the chicken parm could have been a little crispier imo. the food was good, a solid 8/10, but it was NOT worth the way my mom, fiancé, and i were treated. we went in around 1:30, since we were both hungry. this place had about 5-6 empty tables when we came in, and we were immediately barked at by the man (who we later learned was the owner) to sit down and find a seat. it was unnecessarily aggressive, and we were confused as to why there wasn’…

When you mean "chewy" do you mean something that actually has chew or are you referring to the massive, underbaked cookies that are super popular? Because I have a very specific preference for chocolate chip cookies, but I'm also not someone who enjoys raw cookie dough or cake batter. If you like that doughy texture, then Funny Face and Levain are the way to go. Their cookies are massive and craggy, with crispy bits, gooey bits, and raw bits. It hits every mark on the cooked-to-not cooked spectrum. However, if you prefer a smaller cookie that has actual CHEW and is cooked all the way through, I would suggest the lesser known Madman Bakery chocolate chip cookie. It's thinner, got a very satsifying chew, not too crispy exterior, and it might have a hint of caramelized brown butter in it. I enjoy it quite a bit. I'm not sure if Blue Stripes is still doing a chocolate chip walnut, but theirs is not bad either and I think Paradis is also satisfying. But yeah, I like Madman a lot if the cookie is still the same. If you're looking for somewhere close by that has a decent chewy chocolate chunk cookie...Starbucks. Their cookie is a bit processed, but it has perfect chew and a sprinkle of salt. Dependable, consistent.

If the bill doesn't give me a auto-calculated option to check off, I usually just double the tax on the bill and round up to the nearest dollar to make the math easier. I've never gotten a complaint for undertipping. I'd tip if you're dining in and not for anything takeout. **For Katz:** the self order lines are faster and make sure you give the meat cutter like $2 and they'll give you some samples of the meat when they cut them. Their sandwiches are pretty big, I think it has 1lb of meat in a full sandwich. I'd probably aim for a half sandwich. They're also opened 24 hours over the weekends so you can grab it as a breakfast/dinner if you can't fit it in. **For Pizza:** John's of Bleeker doesn't do slices, only pies. If you are going solo, you definitely want to pick another pizza spot. I would recommend the West Village (where John's is located) if you want to check out a few slice shops. Maybe pick one OG slice spot and one "modern" slice shop? [L'Industrie](https://maps.app.goo.gl/5HQ1MSMYVeAuaJfJA) and [Mama Too ](https://maps.app.goo.gl/6yNdgeVUa2uEkiki9)are the newer slice shops that opened there. There's also a [Janie's](https://maps.app.goo.gl/rMKMQS6topMCnMKj7) for cookies about a block away from L'Industrie and Mama Too's, so you'll knock out 2 birds with one stone on…
