replying to u/RoeMajesta: gonna do around of worth it just for the desserts: \- cosme’s corn husk meringue \- earnesto’s basque cheesecake \- lilia’s italian job gelato \- rafs’ budino \- rolo’s burnt cinnamon ice cream \- lartusi’s olive oil cake \- claude’s chocolate cake (these places still have excellent food. I just think their desserts are extra excellent)

replying to u/morganzabeans20: I’m personally obsessed with Loconda vini & olli it’s in Brooklyn & has fab Italian food very much a local nice local spot. Bar Bête (also Brooklyn) is an incredible little French spot another “locals” spot but upscale. Pecking House is amaaazing Asian inspired fried chicken. Fishmarket II is great Malaysian. Soothr is some of the best Thai I’ve ever had. If you want a semi hidden spot in a touristy area hit up pebble bar in midtown. Great drinks but it’s a little hidden so it’s usually people who want drinks after work & they also have food though I’ve never eaten there.

replying to u/Mauve__avenger_: It gets mentioned here a lot but it's for a good reason: Gramercy Tavern. Remarkably excellent and consistent food and dining experience, especially in the tavern (though the main dining room is also great). They're still extremely popular but they've been around long enough that they're not mega trendy or influencer-y. Probably my all around favorite restaurant in NYC. It's honestly amazing how good they still are after all these years.
