  • worth the hype, sorry. The cereal milk soft serve is truly great, buttery, salty, sweet and creamy. With the cereal topping for more texture it becomes even better.

  • The Milk bar legitimately sucks ass. The cereal milk ice cream taste weird and does not taste like cereal milk to me. The former "crack pie" (they renamed it to something else) was basically a sugar pie lol. The cookies are meh

We're staying relatively close to Pizza Suprema and yeah, have found it to be a bit of a food dead zone for us. I'll keep it as a safety net but not prioritise it. That's great to know.

Milk bar was good in its original form, but then they expanded and became sort of a factory premade and shipped to their many, many stores thing. It’s now very mediocre.

  • Great actual deep cocoa flavor with some tang in a nice moist cake. Then, the cheesecake and frosting. It was a bit hard to know what was frosting and what was cheesecake when it was all together, but I didn't care. Super thick, rich, creamy, great cream cheese flavor. I quite enjoyed it.

  • the Milk Bar Birthday Cake is the ultimate funfetti cake with artificial vanilla extract that screams childhood and it’s one of my favorite cakes of all time.

Milk Bar has been terrible for years. I keep ordering, including a big birthday cake for my daughter, in hopes of it just being a bad day, but nope. It's terrible. Very, very sweet and it all tastes very over-processed.

  • 1/5 sorry these were not good, overly sweet, tasted very processed

  • Milk Bar Cereal Milk ice cream is great but close to 100% of everything else they sell is overhyped and cloyingly sweet.

  • I was so excited that milk bar brought back the Thanksgiving croissant but it’s basically just turkey now ( and dark meat only) such a bummer…

  • No. Milk bar isn’t good anymore. They took on a bunch of money, overextended their brick and mortar business, pivoted to CPG, etc..

  • Personally, hasn’t been the same since their big expansion from the small shop across momofuku.

  • replying to u/Desperate_Hunter7947: Not endorsing all of their products, but crack pie from Milk Bar is legit one of the tastiest treats I’ve ever had.

I actually still love the cereal milk soft serve. Like, I would totally go out of my way to get it.

  • Depending on the month, some of Milk Bar's specials are good too (I really like the lemon one and carrot cake ones)

    H2

  • but the current lemon meringue one was actually pretty good.

  • milk bar does have a couple of great items, in particular the birthday cake truffles and the pie formally known as crack pie. Those are both worth getting while you’re in town

  • replying to u/stuffedcheesybread: Yeah interesting to see Milk Bar on this lineup. The hype came and went YEARS ago.

I’ve tried so many things from Milk Bar over the years and never got the hype. Cookies, cereal milk ice cream, crack pie. Not much flavor besides sweet.

Got cereal milk soft serve recently, still hits.

  • I recently tried Milk Bar's cereal milk soft serve at the location near the Ace in Manhattan. It was TERRIBLE and I was really sad.

Honestly agree with most of your takes - only things I’d note are: -Milk Bar Cereal Milk ice cream is great but close to 100% of everything else they sell is overhyped and cloyingly sweet. Damn shame too - they used to be absolutely amazing, when they actually were a bakery selling still-warm cookies made on site instead of the prepackaged factory they’ve become. -Inversely, Noodle Bar has some great dishes but their ramen has always been one of their weakest offerings. Not sure what the menu looks like today, but the buns and ginger scallion noodles to be very good.

Milk Bar is basically inedible now compared to how it used to be. A friend got some while we were hanging out at a bar nearby a few weeks ago - even drunk I could only take one bite.

  • The one at Billy’s is really nice, but I don’t know whether it’s cheaper than milk bar (it’s still pretty pricey) - it’s tastier though!

  • Milk bar is not what you're looking for. It is over the top sweet and does not have a real vanilla punch.

My gosh it really doesn’t get much better than that.

It’s just cloyingly sweet now and feels like any other packaged sweets company on a grocery store shelf.

Milk Bar changed drastically since it was bought. It’s a shadow of its former self.
