The is the reason to go, and the and get named most. The is the signature and it splits people, some call it the best they have ever had and others say it is mushy and oversalted. The tableside and the come up a lot too. It is very expensive, and service reports swing from among the best ever to outright rude.

  • if you have a first slot resy at La tete definitely order prime rib - you’ll get the end bit of the roast (much thicker slice than usual) with a full outline of spice mix. Balances out the biggest weakness of their prime rib which is the lack of a good au jus

  • Prime rib was the best I've ever had, it was so delicious. The mussels were also very good and the mushrooms, out of this world!

  • replying to u/cache-rules: La Tête D’or was an exceptional dining experience. Kind of its own thing but belongs on the list for sure.

Loved our dinner there overall but will say their signature prime rib was not for me, just way too mushy and overloaded with the sauce and horseradish. Porterhouse, sides, and seafood were excellent though

  • replying to u/TheHeftyAccountant: Just had La Tête d’Or for the first time over the weekend for my birthday! Thoughts: Steak was amazing. Some of the best I’ve ever had (chateaubriand and bavette). Also, some of the best ambiance of any restaurant I’ve experienced. HOWEVER, service was abysmal from every party we encountered, from the coat room and check-in, to the sommelier and various servers. No energy, cold attitudes, and frankly disrespectful at points. 2/10 Also, food prices were too pricey. Our bill for three came to over $700, which I would have hoped would have been a big deal to the staff who seemed to not care. Lastly, all items we had (cocktail, appetizers and sides) were all bland or outright bad. 2/10 Overall, don’t expect amazing service and go straight for the overpriced (but amazing) meats. LMK if anyone else has thoughts!

Steak was phenomenal and our bill was very similar to yours. We enjoyed our apps as well, so maybe you went on an off night?

  • great Caesar. Prime rib perhaps not worth the price. Nice desserts
