replying to u/Coldhat: Doughnut plant I think has the best yeast donut (vanilla bean and jam) and their coffee cake donut is my favorite cake donut. A bit of a no name choice - masa madre in sunnyside, if you can get them fresh, has the best plain sugared yeast donut I’ve had. (It’s called their old fashioned but it’s nothing like an old fashioned) perfect texture and sweetness. The maple donut is the same donut with a maple glaze also very very good. Simply perfect.
