  • absolutely delicious! It has marshmallow melted into the cookie and the difference in texture from the chewy cookie to crunchy candied cornflakes was delightful. We also got a Creme Brulee Danish which was good but the cookie was perfect.

  • I ate the plain croissant there which was incredibly butter and flakey. The stuffed croissant was a little much for me, same with the berries and cream doughnut. Just a little too much filling for my liking but the flavors were delicious. No notes on the others, they were great and I will definitely be back to try more of their menu

  • Honey Roasted Cornflakes, Macadamia & White Chocolate Cookie — my favorite! It was sweet and salty, also the cookie was half-baked, which was such a texture heaven like me (cruchy&chewy) at the same time!

  • Every pastry chef in the world should wave the white flag of defeat when they try this; a brutal display of confident mastery over pastry technique, flavor profile construction, and recipe development.

  • This pastry shot its way up to my personal number one, and it wasn’t even the best thing we ate from Supermoon.

  • The passionfruit curd donut is truly to die for (only if you like citrusy desserts though), and their ube pandan ice cream sandwich is also very delicious (but super rich, I’d recommend sharing)! But honestly, you really can’t go wrong with anything there !

  • So while it was delicious, I’d rather look at a traditional french bakery if I wanted a plain croissant.

  • Supermoon Bakehouse - My favorite laminated bullshit (filled croissants, etc, they're more flakey then they should be) and the most exciting ice cream flavors (the passionfruit one is super pucker, and the soy caramel is just great).

  • Everything was great, the cookie was my fav, I actually didn’t love the Thai tea filling, there was a ton of it and I wish there was a more croissant/less filling balance

  • replying to u/thansal: How's the cookie part of the ice cream sandwiches? I got a couple of scoops there recently and I'm now super enthusiastic about their ice cream as I think they have the most interesting flavors in NYC atm. Almost Ice & Vice levels for me. They're also my favorite laminated pastry bullshit options (cruffins, danishes, filled croissants, etc). They're so over the top flakey that it's ridiculous, but I love it. The multi-colored croissants are really pretty (especially once you get inside of them), though I tend to not like the flavor choices or the giant spill of white chocolate.

the cookie is less cookie and more of an ube brownie. soft and melts into the ice cream beautifully. That sticky, wrapper-coating feeling you remember from childhood ice cream sandwiches.

  • replying to u/sushi_sashimi007: Frozen affogato at Torrisi. Chocolate Tarte at Bad Roman. Anything at Supermoon BAKEHOUSE, especially the passion fruit donut. The fiore de latte at il gentile gelato.

I didn't like the sweet croissants at Supermoon as they felt a little hard / dry, but Imma have to go back to try their plain given all the raves. Their soft serves were not bad!

  • replying to u/dininghallenthusiast: Never thought of Supermoon as aggressively sweet but I can see where you're coming from, especially when thinking about the eclairs. I find the doughier pastries more balanced (cruffins, maritozzos). Their gelato was very sweet. Radio has great hits from breakfast through lunch too (especially w/ the sandwiches) which is impressive.

Some flavours of Supermoon’s gelatos, notably the chocolate and lychee/rose, are disgusting. The lychee/rose one tasted and had the texture of pink bubblegum, no hint of lychee or rose whatsoever, and the chocolate one also barely tasted chocolate (even the color was a very light brown)

  • The passionfruit curd donut from supermoon bakehouse is incredibly good. It’s not unbearably tart, but it might be too tart for some people. I think it’s perfectly balanced

  • Then there are places like Supermoon, which are such utter supremacy that all you can do is feel admiration at the sheer mastery of cuisine and a little twinge of sadness that you might not ever match the level of the work you’re witnessing as a consumer.

  • pastries looked designed for instagram, but they taste as good as they look. I particularly love their doughnuts and soft serve.

  • But regarding flavor, it was all pretty sugary and pretty much fell flat after the sweetness came through.

  • replying to u/Smooth_Influence_488: Supermoon Bakehouse, that's pretty close on the F. Their fruit pastries especially, nice and actually tart!

    Supermoon is extremely sweet

  • They have spectacular croissants (although they are on more crunchier side, but still very delish)

  • replying to u/pigeonmachine: The ube pandan ice cream sandwich from Supermoon Bakehouse

We tried this but came for the ube. I remember it tasting nothing like it though, fair warning.

hard agree!!! waste of money imo neither of the flavors came through and was just a one tone sweet

  • replying to u/air-: Supermoon seemed appealing because of the rotating menu, but found their product to often be so aggressively sweet

I find the doughier pastries more balanced (cruffins, maritozzos). Their gelato was very sweet.

  • replying to u/raaheyahh: I feel like the outlier here. I found all of their stuff very aesthetically pleasing. But regarding flavor, it was all pretty sugary and pretty much fell flat after the sweetness came through.

Everything way too sweet and too much surface level prettiness that didn’t deliver in sophisticated flavor.
