  • Eaten at a good number of higher end/Michelin spots in the city and this is right up there with there with the best. Service, food, engagement, vibe, pretty much everything about it made for a perfect night.

  • Felt like they rolled out the red carpet for me.  Everyone was extremely nice, had like a 10 people coming up to me asking if I needed anything.  Even the chef came out to talk to me.

  • I’m a fan of the duck at Gabriel Kreuther, most recently two-week aged hay-smoked Long Island breast with roasted baby carrots, soubise, caramelized ginger jus, and berries, and a side of duck leg confit with snap pea espuma, Riesling, and crispy parmesan.

  • i LOVE gk!!!! so underrated, fabulous service without feeling stuffy, interesting food but not so interesting you’re like uhh what was that.

  • The food had repetitive elements. Felt like we got caviar and crème like 4 different ways. Just felt a bit….one note? Monotonous? I dunno, just not dynamic or interesting.

  • replying to u/fashion_opinion: Le Bernardin is my favorite restaurant in the whole city! Thank you for the recs

I think they pound for pound outpunch Le Bernardin for every course, and have better service. Aside from their signature sturgeon and sauerkraut tart that I mentioned in a different thread, they have a phenomenal hay smoked trout on the lunch tasting menu, can’t remember if it’s on the dinner menu as well. Heck, if I were in your shoes, I’d go to GK for lunch weekly and dinner a couple of times before your new gig starts, it’s that good.

  • Very, very good meal from start to finish; great ambiance, very romantic and the service was efficient though a bit formal.

  • replying to u/HighFreqAsuka: Gabriel Kreuther (2 stars) was legitimately the best meal of my life. I personally think 2 stars is the sweet spot, particularly if they’re gunning for 3.

this is my husband's favorite Michelin star restaurant in the city and we've been to plenty. they have a wonderful tasting menu and their staff has always been the perfect mix of attentive, professional and friendly.
