“Claud was super disappointing- I asked the server for recommendations and they suggested their garlic shrimp dish, which just tasted like bad shrimp, and their kale salad which was basically at the level of something you could get at Sweetgreen.”
↳replying to u/DMCer: No one over 35 was there during my first and last visit. Are they big on TikTok or something? I thought it was just fine. Entrees overpriced for being “fine.” Good service though!
The dessert (maple ice cream) was borderline inedible thanks to being too sweet, even without the pumps of barista syrup they usually drown it in.
Good to try once.
“There was a cabbage dish with vadouvan butter that was pretty transcendent, the chicken liver agnolotti were like more Italian manti or dumplings and quite amazing, and the pork chop was a simple preparation (like the beet salad) but i almost ordered a second…I should have ordered a second.”
↳replying to u/expertexpertise: I think Claud is divisive in the subreddit and I can’t say it’s completely past it’s hype, but I’ve had a MUCH easier time getting in the past couple months and each meal has been pretty exceptional in my book.

“Thumbs down for Claud. Snagged a late rez one night abt a year and a half ago. The servers were closing down the place shortly after we arrived. I feel like they rushed our service and made us feel unwelcome.”
“Had a bad experience at Claud recently. Only stand out dishes are the mille feuille, chocolate cake, and agnolotti (ONLY IF YOU *LOVE* chicken liver).”
“One of the simplest yet most satisfying things I’ve experienced in all my years dining in this city was seeing a perfectly grilled pork chop cooked right in front of me, plated, then placed immediately at my table seconds later.”
“That sizzling shrimp dish at Claud is so fucking tasty I could eat it every single day. The fresh sourdough in the garlic oil? Come the fuck on. Amazing!”
“Man that was so good. Every dish was so hearty and filling. The wine list was insane. The chocolate cake was excellent. One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in the city so far.”
↳replying to u/PunnyPrinter: Galia Lahav!! That’s what stands out to me! I’m envious in the best, most healthiest way. I’m sure you’re going to look stunning for your event.
Thanks for the heads up with Claud. A friend of mine is traveling to NYC soon and wanted to bring me back a slice, I’ll tell her to go elsewhere.
“Claud is honest to god my favorite slice of cake in the city. I think it's a shame if the slice OP got was dry, but my personal experience with their cakes has been very moist.”
“Claud has always been a go to for me. They don’t have steak but they have some great dishes that showcase great food - agnolotti, mushroom mille-feuille, pork chops.”
“Claud has this amazing foie gras that is served with candied walnuts and jellied honey vinegar that is so good and interesting. I think the food there in general is great”
↳replying to u/SeriesSenior3327: Claud was worth the hype and then some
“Third for Claud! Just ate there last night and excellent as always, great wine recs, this was a collaboration dinner with chefs from Paris, so not the typical menu.. but have had great meals every time we have dined there.”

“I think about their foie gras & angolotti at least three times a week. I wish I lived closer.”
↳replying to u/janustrap: my go-tos:
Burgers: 4 charles prime rib
Pizza: una pizza
Sushi: nakaji
Yakitori: torien
Tempura: matsui
Tasting: atera (now that chefs table is no longer what it used to be)
Meat: bom
Chinese: hutong
Wine bar: claud
“I hit Claud this week and was super impressed. The chocolate cake was probably the best I ever ever had.”

“When I went their cake was super moist. That and the chicken liver agnolotti were on point”
