replying to u/chass5: this is a job for a nice french restaurant instead of a steakhouse, in my opinion. the steak you’ll get would be appropriately sized such that you could eat an appetizer and/or dessert too. and the wines by the glass list will be better. you have a huge number of options. I love Le Crocodile personally. Le Rock and Frenchette are popular. And there’s always places like Balthazar

replying to u/samdman: Pastis is solid but nothing special imo. It’s basically a slightly watered down version of Le Diplomate in DC. Le Coucou is fantastic but a bit higher end and has some unique dishes, same with Raoul’s, which is a bit more classic (get the steak au poivre). That said, recently went to Le Chene which was my favorite of all. They had a dry aged tuna au poivre special that is one of the best dishes i have ever eaten. The Pithivier is fantastic as well.

replying to u/armilw: My two favorite burgers are Emily and Pastis. Pastis is a phenomenal burger, but you may not love it because it’s a double stack of two solid sized smash burgers. Comes with cheese, pickles, onion, and sauce. It’s a French restaurant so the fries are more bistro style. I’d look up a picture to see if it’s your type, but alongside Emily this is my favorite burger in the city.
