63 Clinton

AI-generated summary

The service is what people talk about first. Staff treat you like a regular and the co-owners work the door, so it never feels stuffy. Most people call the tasting menu the best value Michelin star in the city, and the is the course they remember. The is a roughly $55 supplement and it divides people, some say it is the one splurge worth taking and others call it mushy and a waste.

  • The food was exceptional. I'm not sophisticated enough with food to do explanations justice, but each course was balanced with no ingredient taking center stage, and there was a depth to the flavors.

  • Most staff were aloof, unengaged and would walk away directly after depositing food and reciting ingredients. Any time I had a question I would be speaking to their back as they were walking away.

  • I was just there last night! Was definitely enjoyable, but overall a weaker menu than the last time I went (my previous, and only other, visit was in November 2023 where the menu featured a few fun twists on Thanksgiving dishes).

Sixty Three Clinton's service and atmosphere are of a higher caliber than the food itself — it's truly the most enjoyable dining experience I've had in the city in terms of service and vibes, but the food itself has its ups and downs.

  • 63 Clinton is a personal favorite in that price range, and is also pretty loved by this subreddit. Great bang for your buck, although if you are wine drinkers, their wine list is pretty expensive. I stuck to cocktails which were fantastic

  • Overall I would recommend, but at the end of the day go because you’re interested in the menu or experience, not because it’s arguably a better value than other 1 star restaurants.
