“It's still a fast-food joint, but of the ones I tried, it's definitely the best. The prices are fair for the size, the meat melts in your mouth, and the bun is good too.”

“8. 7th Street burger is a staple of the smash burger scene and boasts excellent value and a classic take on a favorite. It’s not always the best at getting those crispy edges I love on a smashburger but for the price point and accessibility, it’s a P4P fav.”
“the burgers were a bit too greasy for my liking, but they tasted great nevertheless. No fancy ingredients, just meat, cheese, onions, pickles and their special sauce. I was a big fan of the fries as well, very crispy and delicious.”
“I’ll say this: it was really good.”
“7th Street is so mid now. Patties have no crust which is the defining thing that makes smash burgers great. They are just drowning in grease.”
“overly greasy cuz they use meat with too much fat in it, often don’t achieve the crisp edge a smash burger should, and they rely heavily on the sauce and cheese to cover up what is otherwise bland, greasy beef, I’m perfectly happy to eat it but it’s not something I’d ever recommend”
“Both burger and fries are average at best.”
“The best bang for your buck now is 7th street ($9.50 for a double, loaded w/ onions and 'special' sauce), but the lack of anywhere to eat it sorta kills it for me.”
“Definitely can't say the same about anything I've had from 7th st plus how imo both that burger and Gotham's rely on the sauce as a crutch, to the point where sauce flavor is mostly what comes through”
“Am I crazy for thinking 7th street isn't good? I've gone twice now with friends and gotten it alongside Shake Shack and all 3 of us preferred Shake Shack. This is for the Williamsburg locations. There are no crispy bits and the meat has steamed every time.”
“At both locations I have the opinion that the burgers seem greasier now than they used to be. I’ve found them overwhelmingly rich more than once on the last couple of occasions. Perhaps I’ve gotten demanding of my burgers and spoiled by 7th Streets (still) more than serviceable offering.”
“I thought the sauce was heavy handed at 7th st and that the sear lacked compared to the regular smash burgers at Hamburger America.”
“I have had 7th street 3 times from multiple locations and have never once been impressed. Their party has too much fat in it and has this weird, soft texture; it falls apart and has no bite.”
“7th street burger is trash in my opinion. Wet bun and meat is non existent and assemblage is messy.”
“It's alright. Way too greasy for what it is and the patty oddly has little beef flavor.”
“for under $9 in nyc it’s hard to beat 7th street burger tbh, simple smashburger, soft potato bun, no nonsense and it actually tastes like way more than it costs”
“fr, that burger tasted like grease and only grease. No crisp at all, bun fell apart so easily. This was across 3 visits”
“There’s no flavor, way too greasy, and it came in a bun that’s way too big for the patty.”
“skip 7th street, it's a decent burger but what I'd call a backyard burger, basically something you can make yourself pretty easily. If you don't have access to burgers where you're from sure OK but would still consider it a wasted meal”
“Maybe it’s just me, but I was underwhelmed by 7th street both times I’ve had it. The burger has a great texture and char, but just absolutely no flavor or seasoning.”
“Imo 7th st just does it better, their sauce is crack, the burgers are more caramelized, and their buns are better.”
“7th st is fine but I just don't understand all the superlatives thrown at it and this one in particular I just don't get. It's a big grease bomb there's nothing fresh about it.”
“7th Street can't even come close, thought their burgers lacked flavor and had zero saltiness. Over hyped and greasy like 5 Guys.”
“It was soaked in oil, everything stuck together and it looked very uninviting. The taste was not that great, I was expecting more flavour.”

“I wasn’t impressed at all and don’t understand the hype. The burger was extremely greasy & didn’t have a lot of flavor.”
“7th street burger (one of our favorites, the impossible fries were so good)”
“honestly, I thought 7th Street was a fantastic smash burger.”
“My first smash burger ever and I loved it”
“I think it might be one of the best I’ve ever had.”
“7th street burger is the BEST “fast” burger imo. And their fries with beef cheese and onion on top are INSANE.”
“I really liked the burgers, could have had crispier edges.”
“For the price I'll take the overhype tbh”
“7th Street isn't close to the best, but it's consistency across all locations is very impressive”
“7th street isn’t nasty but it’s way overhyped”
“For Smashed: Hamburger America, 7th Street Burger.”
“I like 7th st burger”
“Better than 7th street imo but you'll love them both.”
“7th Street is great, but it's more of a "drunk after the bar, eating burgers on the sidewalk" type of place than a "take guests from out of town" place.”
“solid fast casual smash burger, I appreciated that it wasn't overly greasy.”
“7th street is always under-seasoned and too greasy. It’s good for late night after drinking.”
“7th st and Gotham are both better IMO”
“Shake Shack and 7th Street Burger always hit.”
“One of the smash burger places (7th St, Hamburger America, etc)”
“I’d do 7th Street burger, or Gotham Social for smash burgers over Shake Shack.”
“7th street burger, it really is so good.”
“7th street never failed me on relatively quick service (even when busy) though. Burgers are a bit different style wise, but I like both.”
