“the biggest disappointment for me. All the pastries were over baked, focaccia is flatbread to me, it’s not plush or soft, hard to eat”
“Triple chocolate Croissant was the best Croissant I have ever had. Every layer was distinct and buttery.”
“We really enjoyed the sandwiches. The focaccia was perfect, crispy, and light. But the croissants were such let downs :( I was really expecting to be blown away because people hype up their pastries so much but they were okay at best.”
“Pistachio Croissant - best twice baked croissant I ever had. Most i find too oily, dense, and overbaked but Radio nailed this one.”
“Overall it’s a great spot, really enjoyable if there’s no wait”
“the kale is massaged well, the pesto is great , not to acidic, just bright enough, and the focaccia is devine .”
“The focaccia sandwiches are fire - I think they’re the best I’ve had in NYC. The pastries are good, but not worth the hype imo”
“the pistachio croissant and the brown butter corn cake were absolutely delicious. I will say the chocolate croissant was just okay. I'd definitely go back and try more!”
“the spicy tofu is delicious. love the chili crisp and sesame sauce, love the crunch from the cabbage. I think it's my favorite sandwich in the city.”
“I just recently went there and had this and it changed my life. It was made out of flaky phyllo-like pastry with a honey-tasting glaze and oh my god my mouth is watering just thinking about it.”
“Radio is good, but not that good - not in a city with so many amazing bakeries.”
“It's very good. Well balanced between sweet, tangy, and warming spices. Crust was well baked and provided a good almost crunch as balance to the creaminess of the filling.”
“They have the best focaccia in the city and it's not even close. The sourdough, the fermentation, the contrasting textures, it's some of the best I've ever had.”
“Everything they serve is delicious.”
“their pistachio croissant is vastly superior to Radio’s, which is small, hard, and dry as fuck.”
“I don’t understand the hype of radio. I’ve gone 4 times to try an assortment of things and everything has been…. Mid or below.”
“Bread is great at both, I like the sandwiches at Radio, but some of them I think are too messy/don’t belong on focaccia which isn’t that sturdy and falls apart. I think Radio has better savory pastries.”
“I also really like their spicy tofu sandwich. I don't typically go for tofu, but the combination of the chili oil, sesame ginger sauce, and the crunch from the cabbage make it a perfect sandwich in my eyes.”
“I'm a huge fan of the tofu sandwich and agree with you about the chili oil. I think the brown butter corn cake is really underrated and would recommend giving it a try if you ever go again. The Greenpoint location has earl grey morning buns instead of the matcha ones at the Prospect Heights location, and they're probably my favorite out of everything Radio makes.”
“Radio Bakery should be a case study on what *not* to do. I should preface this with I LOVE DADIO BAKERY but their steak sandwich w chimichurri does not belong on their focaccia - it just falls apart. Flavors are great!”
“I strongly disagree. Their pastries are too sweet - way too much sugar and their croissants suck. Their focaccia and lemon pastries are decent.”
“They’re simple, but the texture and creativity is excellent.”
“Radio Bakery is overhyped. I will give them their lunch sandwiches, by far their best item and probably one of the best things you can get in the city.”
“The triple chocolate croissant at Radio Bakery is actually my favorite - there’s something tangy they mix into the chocolate filling that perfectly offsets the rich butteriness of the pastry dough.”
“I wanted to love that roast beef one of theirs...but I feel like it belongs on a sturdy baguette, not on the focaccia (which is delicious) but ends up falling apart and becomes an absolute nightmare to eat.”
“I think you’ve tried their worst items unfort. I agree the double choc croissant is such a big letdown and even less chocolatey than a regular pain au chocolat… but if you give the the seasonal danish/croissants a try I think you won’t be disappointed. It’s always changing and I’ve tried the tomato with corn pudding, apple brown butter, or even french onion and all are absolutely delightful!”
“Ordered plain and pistachio croissants didn't feel like they were that good honestly. It was more pretty light and airy. Typically the butter will seep through the brown bag but this had hardly any. It was too healthy imo :)”
“I thought the sandwiches were ok. Like the kale was raw, no dressing, a bit tough. Same with the cabbage. Tofu was raw.”
“Without the salmon Radio is better, lightness of the focaccia balances the heaviness of the scallion cream cheese well”
“The pastries are fine, wouldn’t go out of my way for them. The sleeper there is the sandwich selection. The tofu sandwich (sounds nuts) is incredible and they do a great American take on a jambon beurre”
“it's a great sandwich but the real secret is the structural integrity. too many spots stack high-moisture ingredients without considering the bread's strength and you get a soggy blowout. Radio Bakery nails the fat-acid ratio with the marinated kale and the bread actually holds up from the first bite to the last”
“I'm not eating pasties all the time so it's a nice treat.”
“the radio bakery sandwich is incredible because of the bread as much as the filling. that sesame loaf somehow stays crispy and chewy at the same time.”
“The Turkey & Marinated Kale Sandwich from Radio Bakery is the best sandwich in NYC”
“the rhubarb pastry is my favorite thing to ever exist; but the most under rated baked good is the brown butter corn cake. tasting that was an out of body experience. 9.4”
“It IS amazing, but it’s a hard sell (at least for me) to wait 1+ hours in line for a marginally better pastry than one you get from other spots without the wait.”
“Just incredible. I couldn’t believe how good it was. Miraculous.”
“Radio Bakery’s cream cheese, salmon, white onion and dill focaccia ($14.50)”
“I really enjoyed that. The peach pastry was nice but not mind-blowing. Pistachio croissant was mid IMO.”
“French onion croissant 😭”
“the pistachio croissant, rhubarb custard pastry, and the focaccia lox were incredibly delicious. 8/10”
“Roast beef, summer tomatoes, garlic mayo from Radio Bakery in Greenpoint. Go before the G shuts down”
“Crispy on the outside and slightly doughy on the inside, so when you bite into it there are crispy layers that crackle. Incredibly delicious.”
“they rarely miss (cinnamon roll was a big miss for me) and I like that they change it up a little bit season to season.”
“Their smoked salmon on focaccia is probably the best breakfast sandwich I can remember eating.”
“I would fly back solely for that mushroom croissant, it was incredible.”
“For me the pastries are pretty good but the sandwiches are stellar”
“The tofu sandwich was exceedingly delicious, probably in the top three most delicious foods of the trip. Whatever chili oil they use in it is very good.”
“Radio Bakery's salmon sandwich blows away anything I've ever gotten at Russ & Daughters”
“They have a better sandwich, summer only: roast beef, summer tomatoes, garlic mayo”
