  • Hubs and I went here to celebrate our anniversary and it was a great experience. The butternut squash lasagna with brown butter and picked peppers was the standout dish for me (left on pic 2), but all of it was delicious, even the rolls they brought out between courses.

  • replying to u/LicketySplitz: I didn’t find Gramacy Tavern or Le Bernardin (lunch) to be on a level of service I expected. Clinton 63 and Jean Georges were truly special.

They brought the wrong wine for 3 of the 5 courses. They would pour it, then a few minutes later come over with an apology and a new glass with the correct pairing. Not complaining since hey free wine, but certainly didn’t expect that many errors.

  • I had the worst experience at Gramercy Tavern. We were ignored for the first 20 minutes then waiters came flying in and processed us through the whole experience with cold, brutal efficiency.

  • replying to u/Infinite_Carpenter: It’s elevated American. People go because the service is good and the food tastes good. It’s not super innovative or wild. Just solid food.

the food is solid, but it’s not some world changing culinary experience

  • replying to u/Federal_Stay824: Gramercy tavern They have multiple vegetable options for both apps and entrees. Not sure if that’s exactly what you’re looking for but that’s what came to mind

I was just there and was a bit disappointed. The portion sizes were too small for a $175, 5 course tasting with multiple vegan items.

  • Love Gramercy Tavern! They have always put a premium on service, and to me, it’s exactly the experience I want in a high-end restaurant; professional, attentive without being hovering, and warm and welcoming.
