  • L’industrie pizza is by far and away the best pizza by the slice I have ever had. It meets the hype and has raised the bar a bit to high for my liking.

  • swipe your hot crust evenly up the peanut butter and jelly split and take a bite and it’s heaven it’s fucked up how good it is.

  • You clearly have zero understanding of their dough recipe if you think it's overrated and just on par with Joe's. Their recipe utilizes multiple preferments types and SD starter along with high quality flour blends.

L’industrie was my favorite, with Fini being a close second. It most definitely lived up to the height for me. Excellent flavorful crust with an a pleasantly tangy tomato sauce and a good ratio of cheese. Very close to a perfect slice.

  • replying to u/missanthropocenex: L’Industrie used to serve it up like this and I couldn’t stand it. The pizza is paper thin and crispy and when you eat it you’re not sure you did. I like how SOME places do it, but I don’t consider it normal pizza.

I felt that the pizza was less tough and cardboard-y than it was when I first had it a couple of years ago. It's still crisp, but not nearly as tough. Much more edible now.

  • Verdict-delicious crust. Sauce-a lil too salty. The soft serve cantaloupe with sea salt and olive oil is amazing!!! 8.2/10

  • This pizzeria knows how to do an inspired pizza, they just need to work on their dough game to be perfect.

  • replying to u/jimcol: Really appreciate this. I will try L’industrie again soon. Helps to know more about what they’re doing technically. I may just inclined to the taste of the standard NY slices I grew up eating.

When I ate it for the first time, I just bit into the crust first and everything I thought I knew about dough was changed forever. I never knew pizza crust could taste like that.

  • It’s good pizza and has a cool vibe, not many pizza places have loud music, a terrace to hangout outside and booze. The ingredients feel really good quality, and the service is good.

  • replying to u/modest-decorum: Dude lindustrie is so mid it's insane. I have to wonder if it's marketing even in reddit threads. Like ain't no way native nyers are like 'this best slice' Everytime.

The burrata slice at l’industrie is my favorite pizza anywhere. Maybe luck, but I’ve never had a bad slice there.

  • replying to u/jblue212: I'm a native NYer that lives not far from it and went recently just to try it. It was very good pizza. Life changing? No. Worth waiting in line for? Not really. I was a bit disappointed to see that the two slices I ordered were practically identical (one had a smidgen of meat on it) so it seems they just bake plain pies and then throw some toppings on. If I lived across the street, I'd probably frequent the place during non-line hours, but I don't feel a need to walk back there.

The slices are bad because they make blank plain pies and top for the reheat. Nothing is ever really integrated into the pie. It’s just a dry slice with toppings flashed on

  • replying to u/double_creampie: Mama's too VS l'industrie? I still dream of los tacos since last summer.

The plain slice was better at L'industrie but their pesto and sausage was way too salty and base slightly burnt.

  • L'Industrie salted chocolate chip. Thin and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not heavy on the chips (which I like) and not too gooey and messy, perfect

    H3

  • Really thin and crunchy crust, sauce is really fresh and the basil and parmigianno was a nice touch.

  • replying to u/Ahparke: L’Industrie is best right now.

L’Industrie is way too salty. I’ve living in NYC for 10 years and tried lots of pizza but this was the saltiest place ever. The dough is also a bit too dry. Not good at all.

  • replying to u/tilmydaysrdone: 1. Upside Pizza (Greenpoint) 2. L’Industrie (Williamsburg) 3. Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop (Greenpoint) 4. Little Charli (West Village) 5. Motorino (East Village) 6. Fini (Williamsburg) 7. Marinara Pizza (East Village) 8. Sotto Le Stelle (Long Island City) 9. Brunetti Pizza (West Village) 10. Gran Torino (Williamsburg)

I went to the other L'industrie and this sub raves about them but I was honestly so disappointed. There was a lack of sauce, the cheese didn't feel good, the bottom was nearly burnt and one of our slices was cold??

  • L’Industrie has quality slices but you can skip the burrata slice, it just tastes like goo on pizza, the real winner is the margarita, nice and crispy :)

  • replying to u/Strange1130: I waited like maybe 15-20 minutes at the Williamsburg location the other weekend. I’d have been pissed if I waited 50. Anyway I thought it was quite good. I think I gave it an 8/10 and my GF similar. My GF got the burrata slice which was better than the one I got (a daily special, white slice with sausage). But I love a crispy thin slice. We then walked over to Fini and I thought the pizza was a bit better (not as crispy, but tasted better) and there was no line.

L’industrie makes my favorite slice. They cook their slices extra well done to the point of crunchy so I can see some people not liking it.

  • replying to u/Significant-Flan-244: I wouldn’t say it’s better than most of the great local spots but I do think fast food chain pizza is a different category that absolutely has its place and I don’t trust anybody who pretends like they can’t also enjoy it in the right circumstances. Sometimes I want good pizza and sometimes I want Domino’s!

That being said, L’Industrie is frequently more trash than not (burnt, overly salty, stringy cheese)… I’ve given it plenty of tries but can’t get onboard.

  • replying to u/BulldogAce2556: The fig bacon slice is really good

Was so good when I tried it the first time, but tried it again few months ago and it and the bacon was way too chewy/tasted reheated and it was kinda hard to eat.

  • its the best ny slice out there that you can get a slice to go and have it consistently be excellent, plus a really strong toppings game.

  • replying to u/mastapastawastakenOT: Lindustrie has no place being 1st

I just don’t get it. The burrata slice is good, but you throw a dollop of good burrata on bread and of course it’s good. Their plain slice is outclassed by the likes of Lucia and Cello’s.

  • replying to u/Zazz2403: And the harder to control quality. The og isn't even as good as it used to be.

The regular slice used to be perfect, but the last couple times I went, something was a little off with the sauce or the crust. The fig jam bacon was still great, though.

  • replying to u/Titan_Astraeus: Yea, I have tried a lot of pizza around this country and I've yet to have one that I enjoyed more than L'industrie. There are some that maybe some individual component is better, but L'industrie is a near perfect slice imo. The dough is really what sets it apart for me, it is so flavorful and that's rare to find a crust that's more than just a stiff delivery system. Otherwise, you can only differentiate cheese and sauce so much. If ingredients are on par, the dough making is where the process and skills of the pizza shop really come through.

It was light, airy, crispy, but also chewy all at the same time. Everything seemed to be in balance. Not too much sauce or cheese so that one component overwhelmed the other. It was just...a well proportioned slice

  • replying to u/Sad_Hungry: Strange I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes for a slice and now that there’s a second location you would think it’s not that bad a wait but maybe TikTok / influencer nonsense attention ruined the experience.

my point wasn't to trash their food, the food is legitimately good and they deserve credit.

    H3

  • They pioneered the new age slice. Single cook slice with a crispy undercarriage and doughy cornicone from the onset. Artisan toppings.

    H3

  • The burratta and hot honey is really what takes it over the top for me. The hot slice plus cold burrata and the salty cheese plus sweetness of honey and the basil 🥲. So good.

  • replying to u/LessLake9514: Joes is ok. But the atmosphere of such a successful business is such a bummer- it’s often dirty and the workers always seem pissed. And it’s not that much cheaper than l’industrie where they can be slammed and always treat me like a guest and seem hyped to be there. At least in Williamsburg!

IMO, the individual slices aren’t worth it; it’s warmed up slices, just like you’re going to get at any place like Joe’s, and the other ingredients really haven’t been melded correctly as if they were actually baked into a whole pie.

  • replying to u/DC25NYC: >I generally avoid talking to management/owners or accepting discounts. Why though... are you a famous critic? They admit they fucked up and tried to make it right. They can't turn back time. >The pizza itself was good, the crust has a nice chew and nice level of grease, the cheese was excellent.  So after all of this you liked it? IDK why you felt the need to write all of that when the moral is "sometimes hyped up places have big lines- even on mondays" This sub pretty much knows that. Go during off hours to hyped up places you want to try- not during lunch.

Yes I am going to be honest about their food. Nothing is wrong with it.
