replying to u/Touslesceline: El Gran Castillo De Jagua on Flatbush. It looks like something out of a strip mall, smells funny when you walk by, looks kinda like an 80s Burger King inside, and has some of the best food in Brooklyn. I think they keep failing health inspections but I don't care. Even their bread is really good. The Pepper Steak, the Broiled Chicken, the Mofongo OMG, the soupy rice. The staff is really sweet so it doesn't quite fit your criteria but close enough.
