Personally it gives grocery store bagels! They were fine but the outside wasn’t really crispy / crunchy — texture was very one note. I would skip!

  • Leon’s bagels were a big miss for me. The bagel is incredibly dry, the cheese had a terrible texture and overall it’s a subpar bagel experience.

We loved it. The everything bagel was so flavoursome and the texture was perfect. Plus the fillings tasted so fresh. Nothing to be improved on in my opinion!

  • A tiny one opened in Nolita, and those sandwiches are _outstanding._ Just enough filling on the bagel to make it worth its hefty price tag without being entirely sloppy, on a huge bagel that stands on its own as being absolutely delicious.

  • replying to u/NYEDMD: Excellent job, and in only three days! Kudos. I’m embarrassed to admit that I hadn’t heard of Leon’s, although I think they’re missing the boat by being open only eight hours (8 AM - 4 PM) a day. Will still have to give them a try. Finally, in defense of Joe’s, I wonder if it’s fair comparing them to say, L’industrie. It’s like doing a comparison of supermarket cookies and throwing in a Levain. Is L’industrie better? I’ll grant you that it is. Still, give me Joe’s at 1:00 AM on a Friday night in June, sitting on the street outside. PS Thanks for spending your hard-earned time and money here, and helping maintain NY city as the food capital of the world.

Leon’s is good but not worth waiting on line for

  • replying to u/SDtheGhostt: Leon’s: See I don’t think their bagels are anything special to go out of the way for (in a city filled with good bagels) BUT their bagel egg sandwiches are always perfect. The proportions and cook on everything always seems to be spot on. Other places struggle with the ratios on a bagel egg sandwich idk why. Not Leon’s though.

    I love Leon’s bagels. I think it’s the texture.
