↳replying to u/crazeman: There's a shit ton of Korean corn dogs in Manhattan nowadays.
Two Hands is a chain but I think they're my favorite. Really like the sweet potato dog. Multiple locations. I like that they put on the sauce for you (more on this later).
Jongro in Ktown has a corndog with a ramen crust. It sounds freaking amazing but it's actually meh and disappointing. They used to have a location on St. Mark's in East Village but I'm pretty sure it closed.
Oh K-Dog has Korean hot dog and Korean egg toast sandwiches. They also have a unique squid ink half and half dog.
This is strictly a "me problem". They have a mini bar on the side with a bunch of ketchup squeeze bottles with a bunch of sauces so you can put on whichever sauce you want. I squeezed a random combination onto it and it looked like I diarrheaed all over it. Didn't taste as good as Two Hands IMO but it could very well be me fucking up the sauces lol.
The egg toast sandwiches are also SUPER mid, pretty disappointing. The only thing I remember thinking when I ate it was that it tasted like "eggs with toast". I couldn't even really be mad since that's exactly what it was but the Youtube videos of Korean street egg toasts sandwiches always look so damn magical and good so I was expecting something a lot better. I think I would have been much happier with a 2nd corndog instead of a corndog + egg toast.
“I actually liked the k-dog at Oh K-Dog more than Two Hands (of course variability is a factor)”
