  • replying to u/Snoo-18544: FiDi isn't known for dive Bars, but east village/lower eastside has plenty which is a 10 minute train ride from FiDi (its walkable, but a treck). Here is my list 1. Clockwork - This is probably as divey as it gets. LES/Dime Square. This place is seedy and is the type of place that you probably don't want to get to know their regulars. Wells are 7$ 2. Welcome to the Johnsons - semi-famous because lady gaga used to like the bar when she wasn't famous. They have 3$ PBRs and cheap wells (under 10$) - LES 3. Magician - accross from the johnsons. Long bar/ more space 4. Double Down Saloon - cheap bar thats clock worked price in Alphabet City/EV near houston. Good place to start if you want to just go bar hopping as alphabet city is basically bars and restaurants underneath walkups. This place is popular among service industry. Everyone should have an 'ass juice' shot once in their life. 5. Library - Dive Bar across from Double DOwn Saloon. They do by one get one free happy beers/wells/wine hour from 5 to 8. Gets busy at night. I am pretty sure most people who are regulars here haven't read a book in years contrary to the name. 6. Cladestino - this is a wine bar that becomes more like a dive late night. Most wine bars in the city don't stay open till 4 a.m. and after midnight it feels like any dive. This one is close to clock work and in dime square. Wells around 10$, always busy. Crowd is more eclectic. Note that Dime Square contains the venue sovereign house, which is liberatari…

This is a great list! adding Iggy’s Keltic Lounge on the LES as well

Doc Holiday's. Rudy's. McSorley's (I wouldn’t necessarily recommend all of those for night drinking though)

I've been there and like it. I didn't put it on the list because its Irish bar and I don't think that's it's aesthetic. Solid bar and drinks are cheap.
