replying to u/Ninjaboi333: Manhattan * grill 21 is the most "home style" cooking in the borough imo * naks is really good. I don't usually eat out Filipino food if I can make it at home/am not meeting friends, but I can't do the things they're doing. Slightly pricier * shoutout to patok by rach all the way up in in wood, if you end up visiting the met cloisters * I have not yet had a chance to try tadhana but really want to. Pricey tho. * mamafinas sisig is one of the best sisig I've had. Kind of a long wait time tho last time I went. * gugu room is more loungey but has good Japanese-Filipino fusion and good cocktails * have not had a chance to try binondo in Chinatown but interested in giving it a shot. * obligatory Jollibee if you find yourself in times Square * have not yet been to kalye, but wife has gone for kamayan a few times W coworkers. In queens, it's hard to go wrong with most places along the stretch of roosevelt Ave between 61st and 71st. Everyone has their favorite (my wife likes kusina pinoy bistro). These are more home style cooking overall. Also shoutout Kora donuts in Sunnyside. They opened up their brick and mortar in the past few months and apparently there are lines out the doors in the morning and they do sell out of their signature donuts - my favorite is the one W leche flan in it.
