replying to u/MurrayPloppins: I’ve tried a bunch of OP’s list, and my favorite thing about Somtum Der is that it’s so distinct from most of the rest of these. Isan dishes are still Thai of course, but they play with funky and sour flavors in a way that I rarely see in other places. The Super Peek Gai at Somtum Der is one of my favorite soups in the city, though the burn always makes me regret it. That said, I also love Fish Cheeks and TD and Soothr and Pranakhon. Many good choices.
