“Very homey Japanese food. Patrons are almost entirely Japanese expats. Vibe and food feels like you’re transported to Tokyo. Don’t expect some mind blowing culinary experience. Food can be a bit hit or miss but generally very comforting.”

replying to u/jaded_toast: I'm not sure about fitting 8 easily, might have to check with the restaurant, but my favorite izakaya is Yopparai. I think that Sakagura might be a nice option, too. The decor is a little kitschy, but the menu is pretty wide where everyone has a lot of options to choose from.
