replying to u/themooseexperience: King's Co Imperial in Williasmburg (can't speak for their LES location although I assume it's the same quality) is really great. That being said - in my mind there's a difference between the "holy grail" and "childhood reincarnation" when it comes to General Tso's chicken. King's Co dishes out the best-tasting General Tso's for my adult palette and satisfies a craving when I'm looking for a more casual, but still somewhat elevated, dinner. For the nostalgic, greasy, crispy General Tso's I grew up eating, I prefer New Moon (Kips Bay) or East Met West (Williamsburg). But frankly, I think for the nostalgia-inducing Genearl Tso's, the real answer is "whichever place is above par and can be at your door fastest."
