    replying to u/nuanceinize: Surprised no one has said this one yet, but Commerce Inn has colonial-style tavern food in a really cool space, which reminds me a bit of St John. But I’m interpreting St John less as “super high end fancy” and more as “traditional and made for people who love interesting food.” It’s also maybe a little River cafe-ish menu wise, minus the extra poshness of west (even if it is in the west village). (I’ve been to the original St. John’s a few times plus the marylebone location, so that’s my experience of it).
