replying to u/destaillandiers: Follia or Paul and Jimmy’s for neighborhood Italian (i.e., reliable but I wouldn’t travel out of my way to go there). Casa Mono/Bar Jamon, Chito Gvrito, Yellow Rose for casual date nights, Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, or any of the abc’s for a more fancy one (maybe a little too obvious on those recc’s though). Not asked for but Sushi Dairo for unassuming, under the radar but great omakase. Don’t go to Eleni’s.
