The soup dumplings are the same size and taste and quality that I could get in frozen bags at Chinese grocery stores for a fraction of the price. Everything else lacked flavor. This is where I learned just how true the “3-star asian” rule is, where chinese restaurants should have 3 stars on google/yelp to be good in the eyes of an Asian person. Again, I know many people will disagree with me, but like, these are just opinions, dude.

    replying to u/Kreos642: I just went there last week because of the Riteous Eats viral video. I simply just wanted to give it a shot. Honestly, I was disappointed. I completely agree with you. I never even had soup dumplings before this and I could tell something wasn't right. Two of my dumplings didn't even have soup in them, and the rest were mostly just fat/meat juices versus any kind of soup (don't tell me they're the same thing). Other people at a different table said they jacked their prices up recently thanks to going viral, and that reassured my suspicions. I found the pork buns to be lacking filling. Though while tasty, mine was hot and my fiance's was barely warm. The grandma dumplings vs the traditional soup dumplings were....lackluster, to say the least. And the seasoned cucumbers tasted like what I can make at home (I didn't order the ones with the beef because I'm not paying an extra $7 for 2oz.) The place was very clean, yes. And the bathrooms were well maintained all things considered (all of the appliances were spotless, good soap). I found the staff were overwhelmed, since there was 1 host and 1 server for the entire restaurant. All of the 5 star reviews made me raise an eyebrow. I'm glad I went and tried it out to know, but I won't be going back.
