“Jai Sang Ma's Nam Tok Moo Boat Noodle stands out with its deep reddish-brown broth, speckled with blood, and a medley of secret herbs that create an umami explosion. This dish is a journey into the bold and authentic flavors of Thai boat noodles.”
↳replying to u/Rusiano: >- for thai, saranrom, zaab zaab, eim khao mun kai, or khao kang depending on what u want to eat/how casual
Thank you. Which thai restaurant would you recommend for the following dishes:
- pad see ew
- khao soi
- panang curry
“I have absolutely no authority but I love Chao Thai and Jai Sang Ma (only open after 5) for khao soi.”
↳replying to u/capybaramelhor: I’m trying to decide what Thai place in queens to take a visiting friend to. Preference Elmhurst/ JH or adjacent neighborhoods. Thinking maybe Saranrom… any recs
↳replying to u/donut_butt: If you do make it out to Queens, it's nice to go around the corner to Khao Kang for Thai sweets. And personally, I like Hug Esan (down the street from both) so much that I've never eaten a meal at any other place on that street.
If you're in the area of the Williamsburg Zaab Zaaab, you should probably just go to Birds of a Feather (or, let's be real, L'industrie) instead.
But to be honest, if you only have four days, and you don't go to NYC a lot, you may want to try Soothr or Fish Cheeks or Thai Diner or something else that's around something else. And I say this as someone who is obsessed with Hug Esan.
“Jai Sang Ma, further down on Broadway, is a close runner up mostly for the ambience.”
