replying to u/Pbpopcorn: Non-native New Yorker here. Another “hidden gem” is Morris Park. A very Italian and Albanian neighborhood even natives don’t know about. Personal recs include Emilio’s (pizza), Enzo’s (pasta), Patricia’s (pasta), La Masa (empanadas) La Casa del Caffe (cappuccinos). I also recommend Dukagjini Burek and Tacos El Bronco truck near the 2/5 White Plains Rd/Pelham Parkway station -the taco truck is the same as Sunset Park but was always easier for me to get to
