replying to u/DenyNothing1989: I am a certified Don Angie hater, but respect your opinion, and would say if someone wants traditional red sauce Italian go for the most cartoonish fun version at Carbone for the total experience. Angie was a line cook there. Or if you want really traditional Italian straight up go to Roscioli, the nyc outpost of the Rome institution.
