• replying to u/mllejacquesnoel: Ah! I walked past the other day and they looked neat. Will be checking them out. Thanks!

I thought their fusion sushi rolls were going to be a lot more gimmicky in execution but they are delicious.

  • replying to u/crazeman: **Japanese:** [Mamasushi](https://maps.app.goo.gl/vs4xyCBj4B22kFj18) is out of the way in Washington Heights but they have "Dominican Sushi" which may be interesting for you to try. [Patisserie Fouet](https://maps.app.goo.gl/TPQm3y4LYgNG3sHN9) is one of my favorite dessert spots and is definitely a must visit. They're a Japanese-French bakery. They also have a 3 course pre-fixe dessert option. [Patisserie Tomoko](https://maps.app.goo.gl/MrQqr9ULX4pcw5s9A) is also a terrific Japanese-French Bakery in Brooklyn. [Brooklyn Kura](https://maps.app.goo.gl/TPmmJUtNvzxXULSw7) is a Sake Brewery that brews in Brooklyn. They have a taproom and they recently started offering tours during the weekends. There's a "Japan Village" in the building next door but the food will be VERY underwhelming considering you're from Japan lol. I would recommend getting some tacos from the [Tacos el Bronco](https://maps.app.goo.gl/EUGdk7GJUBfULT9T9) a few blocks away instead. Not quite "fusion" but [Katana Kitten](https://maps.app.goo.gl/8uQK7MsBzPS1kQHWA) is a Japanese cocktail bar that's ranked [27th in the world according to some list](https://www.theworlds50best.com/bars/the-list/katana-kitten.html). Might be worth visiting but I thought it was super meh when I visited but I'm not a cocktail expert lol. --- Not a Japanese bar but Double Chicken Please is a cocktail bar that's ranked #2 on the same list. They get hate for being a cocktail bar for people who don't actually like cocktails lol. I thi…

I’ll also second Mamasushi as a unique option for someone wanting to see what else sushi can be.

  • replying to u/atreyu720: True New Yorker here who’s lived in 3 out of the 5 boroughs. Here are my recommendations! Fast food -prince street pizza - Mei Lai Wah for their pineapple pork bun - L&Bs spumoni gardens -rice to riches - mama sushi - empanada mama for a wide range of empanadas Let me know if u want more recommendations, I have a huge list this is just what I could think of atm

L&B’s, empanada mama, artichoke, halal guys, and mamasushi are garbage compared to what you can find elsewhere.
