  • replying to u/PresentBasic3279: Fried dumplings from Lan Zhou, Brooklyn blackout cake from Two Little Red Hens, and oddly Au Bon Pain. They had this insanely good mushroom bisque and the create your own sandwich counter would hit so hard in between my uni classes. Also, it still exists but the INSANE price jump of Tuome prices breaks my heart. The crab and dashi butter noodle dish now costing $43 leaves it a cherished but distant memory in my heart.

    If you’re going to miss something there, miss the original Brooklyn Blackout cake from Ebingers.

  • replying to u/sinistar914: My wife makes Ebinger’s Blackout Cake a couple of times a year. It's alot of work but everyone loves it. She has made it for people who were around when Ebinger's was still around and they rant and rave about how it tastes like the original. Google the recipe.

    I've made it before and it turned out good.
