replying to u/Cee_Vader: Always give advance notice. Most trendy restaurants take reservations 28-30 days in advance. Few of the exceptions such as Don Angie is 7-days or Cipriani's is 14-days but doesn't hurt to ask for it a month in advance. We set alerts to work on the reservations the day they are released. But please also don't contact us in April if you are coming in December, if you know what I mean. Gratuity, treats, thank you notes are always greatly appreciated. We love guests who are easy to work with and understanding. I always explain to guests we have never had any luck getting anyone into Via Carota except through Resy Notify. It's refreshing when a recent guest was very understanding and said we don't need to contact the restaurant, they will try to walk-in. I will reach out to the restaurant GM if you are nice to me, but if you are entitled and pushy, good luck. A personal pet peeve of mine is when my recommendations are always met with doubts, "is it good?" - no, I'm sending you to a shitty restaurant just so you can come back and complain to me, why bother asking if you are not going to trust me. I take a lot of pride in what I do and spend a lot of personal time doing homework to keep up with the ever-expanding restaurant scene in this city, I also go to as many as possible so I can provide honest opinions.
