replying to u/DanielNoWrite: You might be able to snag Four Horsemen for a Monday lunch, but I'd recommend showing up before opening if you really want to guarantee it. For what it's worth, Four Horsemen is consistently one of the best meals I've had in the city. Rude Mouth is just down the street, and was started by a Four Horsemen employee. It's not as high end, but very good. Have & Meyer is right nearby as well. The atmosphere is amazing and the wine list is good, but I've been consistently disappointed by the food. Cecily (Greenpoint) is similarly "elevated but not pretentious," like Four Horsemen. It's going out of business in Nov, but I'd recommend it while it's still around. People like With Others on Bedford, but I haven't gone. More towards the water, Bar Baserri has been on my list for a while, but I haven't been. Lilia (Italian) is an institution, though some think it's hit or miss. Misi (Italian, sister restaurant) is excellent, though not as "cozy" as the other options.
